1975-gibson-les-paul-recording-alpine-white
1975 Gibson Les Paul Recording Alpine White

This special luxury interpretation of the Gibson Les Paul from the Norlin era, designed only between 1971 and 1979 by Les Paul, was the model favored by Les himself until his death. As a further development of the Les Paul Professional... the Recording combined the traditional Les Paul design with extensive electronics and exotic features that Gibson never used before or since.

For your consideration here is the 2nd version of the Les Paul Recording, revised in 1975/76, features, among other things, two separate input jacks (high and low impedance), which are controlled by the four controls for bass, treble, decade and volume, as well as the 2-way phase switch and 3-way tone switch, allowing incredible sound variations. The low-impedance stacked humbucker pickups developed especially for this model were intended to provide improved frequency response and minimized signal degradation over longer cables.

Either it was too far ahead of its time or simply developed without the customer in mind - it was rarely bought back then and the Gibson purists of the time preferred bursts, high-impedance humbuckers and a less cluttered design concept with switches and knobs.

From today's perspective, of course, not much has changed at one point: it still looks cluttered and you have to like its unusual appearance. But it simply has something that the other Paul's don't have, and if it's really something, then it's flexibility. Both wiry-dynamic single coil sounds and humbucker-like Les Paul drives can be coaxed out of it and fine-tuned in a wide range of variations.

For those who are more particular about cosmetic condition please request more photo's

 Origin: Kalamazoo, MI, USA

 Year of manufacture: 1975

 Body: Mahogany/maple/mahogany (pancake), solid

 Top: Maple, three-piece

Neck: Three-piece quartersawn maple neck, set neck

 Neck profile: "C"

Fingerboard: Rosewood with small block mother-of-pearl inlays, multi-ply bound

 Fingerboard radius: 10"

 Frets: 22

 Nut: Bone, 43mm

Headstock: Angled maple headstock with black face and Gibson custom diamond mother-of-pearl inlay, bound

Pickups: 2x Gibson low impedance stacked humbucker

Electronics: 3-way pickup selector switch, 1x volume, 1x treble, 1x bass, 1x decade control, 3-way tone switch, 2-way phase switch

Tuners: Grover Rotomatic Crown button tuners

 Bridge: Harmonica Style Adjusto-Matic

 Stoptail: Gibson Stop Bar

 Hardware: Chrome

 Bindings: Black/Cream, multi-ply

 Pickguard: Black, 5-ply

 Finish: Natural high gloss, nitrocellulose

Special features: 2 outputs (low / high impedance)

 Scale length: 24-3/4"

 Incl. original Gibson/ pink lined

 Purchase includes a pro setup.
