This is an Ibanez TS9DX Turbo Tube Screamer Overdrive pedal. The TS9DX is unique among Tube Screamers in that it has a knob that selects from four different combinations of clipping diodes and tone capacitors. It's like having four different Tube Screamers in the same pedal!

There's a reason that the Tube Screamer is THE classic overdrive pedal that all others are judged upon. They boost midrange and tighten bass frequencies, so your guitar always sits perfectly in a band mix. It works great with a clean or dirty amp, either as a boost, a warm overdrive, or a dirty overdrive. But the TS9DX does even more.

Here's a rundown of the controls:

• DRIVE: This is the input gain. You can turn it down and use the pedal as a clean boost, or you can crank it up for some raunchy overdrive.
• TONE: This is your standard low-pass filter tone control. Turning it counter-clockwise rolls off harsher high frequencies.
• LEVEL: This is the output volume of the pedal. Keep it at unity gain with your amp, or crank it up to drive your tube amp into natural overdrive.
• MODE: This toggles between four different sets of clipping diodes and tone capacitors:
• • TS9: This is the classic TS9 Tube Screamer circuit. It's the pedal that you've heard on all the classic recordings. It's not an emulation; it is the actual TS9 circuit.
  • +: This mode increases the output volume and has more bass than the standard TS9.
  • HOT: This mode uses LED clipping for boosted cleans and less distortion. This mode also has a flatter EQ (more bass/less mids). HOT mode is great for boosting a tube amp into natural overdrive.
  • TURBO: This mode removes the clipping diodes from the circuit. It has a big bass boost, and it gets really loud.

This TS9DX is in good cosmetic condition. All of the electronics work perfectly. The pots, jacks, and switches are clean and quiet. Two of the knobs are not original. The rubber pad and battery door are missing from the underside of the pedal to make it easier to mount to a pedalboard. You can power this Tube Screamer with a 9-volt battery, a Boss PSA-style ac/dc adapter, or your standard 9-volt pedalboard power supply.
