1978 Fender hardtail Stratocaster, in a striking natural finish! It features all the appointments you would expect with a late 70's Strat like the 3 bolt micro tilt neck, skunk striped maple neck with maple fingerboard.
But unlike a lot of late 70's Strats, this one here doesn't feel like a boat anchor around your neck, and weighs in our scales at 7lbs 11oz. Very nice axe here!! And she feels great in the hands as well!! Upon removing the pick guard we can confirm that she's all original under the hood..... The 3 grey bottom pickups are dated to the 25 week of 1978, and the pots are dated to the 18th week of 78', the body of the guitar is dated to 8-11-78, and the date on the heel of the neck is from the 1st day of the 31st week of 78.
All of the wiring, and solder joints are original and appear untampered with. The serial number on the inside of the pick guard is an exact match to the serial number on the headstock. The only non original aspect of this guitar would be the white volume and tone knobs. The black pickup covers should be paired with black dome knobs. However the white knobs with gold lettering which is fading to green are late 70's Fender knobs, a previous owner must have swapped them out many years ago.
We don't find that any repair work has been done to this Strat nor does any repair work need to be performed! Upon purchase you may specify your preferred string gauge, and how you like the action set up so it arrives ready to shred at your desired specifications.
Of course with any guitar this age there are some ding's and minor scratches here and there, there is a small buckle rash spot on the back of the body which has worn through the finish (please see photos for details). We have embedded a YouTube video of this exact guitar, so please take a minute and check it out if your interested, for further detail on how she looks and sounds. We personally really enjoy this guitar and feel strongly that is sure to please it's new owner, she's a wonderful player with fantastic mojo!!
