1962 Pre-CBS Duo Sonic for your consideration here today. This is an incredible sounding and playing guitar with low action, optimal neck relief and is currently set up with 10s. Upon purchase we can change the set up before shipping to suit the way you prefer if desired. Overall it's in excellent condition in our opinion please see photo's to decide if you agree with us. We are just calling the finish of this guitar "Red" because it is our assumption the finish is non-original because everything about the guitar dates it accurately to 1962, with unaltered solder joints on the electronics as well which also date to 1962... however "Dakota Red" Fender factory finish wasn't available on Duo Sonics until 1964. The exterior of the original hard shell case also appears to have been painted black at some point, and due to normal wear and tear the original brass is showing on the clasps and latches. The original handle on the case has been replaced with a leather handle that attaches with buckle style latching. The last alteration we detect is the absence of the solid black pickup covers. Fortunately none of these things affect the ways she plays and sounds, and this is one heck of a guitar, and great opportunity to take home a Pre-CBS Fender, with slab Brazilian Rosewood fret board.

The Duo Sonic is a two pickup version of the 3/4 scale Musicmaster intended for amateur musicians but has found favor over the years from players such as John McLaughlin, Jimi Hendrix, Walter Becker, Johnny Winter and Dean Ween. The neck has a beautiful worn-in feel and the small body size makes the guitar very comfortable for players of all sizes, lots of fret life left in this guitar, as it appears to have been gently used over the years. She weighs in on our scales at 6lbs 4oz and has a 1-9/16th nut width
