At first glance this guitar looks exactly like a standard D-28 so we checked it out spec for spec. For all intents and purposes after comparing the build specs of a standard D-28 to this guitar..... The "custom" aspect would be that it does not have a diamond volute where the neck meets the headstock. It also sports a slightly wider string spacing 2-1/4" and a slightly wider neck in the upper registers 2-1/4" at the 12th. But it retains the same size as a standard in the cowboy chord area, including a 1-3/4" nut and 1-11/16" wide neck at the 1st.

She has bumps and dings as seen in the pictures, but is in overall very good to excellent condition. The largest of the cosmetic issues include a ding on the corner of the headstock, some light finish checking, and a scrape on the soundboard/ upper bout bass/ side near the binding. No major breaks repairs or mods to speak of. It is worth mentioning though that over the years the pick guard has shrunk slightly and there a very slight to the guard as well on the lower end that closest to the bridge (see photo). Lastly there is about a 1/8" gap in the binding where it would meet/ center of the heel cap. Beside that the binding is fully intact and stable. For those who are more particular about the dings and bumps please just request more photo's as we are limited to using only 25 (as you know) on this platform.

The D-28 is the Dreadnought by which all others are judged. Constructed of solid East Indian rosewood back and sides, Sitka spruce top and mahogany neck, this instrument has been a favorite of artists from Hank Williams Sr. to Jimmy Page. Massive bass response balanced with articulate highs makes this a benchmark acoustic guitar and a must-have for every guitarist. Perfect for the intermediate and advanced player.
