Refret Ebony fret board. Complete fret replacement on an Ebony fret board, bound or unbound, electric or acoustic guitar. We will Remove the worn frets, clean out the fret slots, dress the top of the fret board and instal the frets of your choice.  Frets will then be dressed and polished. on a case by case bassis the nut may also need to be replaced which is an additional cost. There is also an upcharge of $120 if you would like stainless steel Fret wire. In the case of old les pauls where binding nibs need to be left intact, the fret will be cut and fitted inbetween the bass and treble side nibs. There is also an upcharge for this service. It is quite common for old Ebony to chip at the edge of the fret slot when removing old fret wire from Martin guitars and old Gibson guitars. We repair any chips that happen as a result however, this does not mean we can hide all chip repairs 100%. Chip repairs are level and sometimes we can use the old chip that came out of the fret board in the first place. We do our best to hide any chip out that happens.
